For many, Jasmine Tea sits among Black, White, and Green tea as one of the all time classics. This tea is harvested in early spring time and stored until the late summer and then scented 3 times. A  Green Tea base, yet containing another layer of fragrance entirely.

Many of our teas here contain Jasmine as it blends so perfectly well with many other flavours. Throughout Asia this tea is commonly used to greet guests.

Brewing

  1. Either a) Bring the water to boil then let it cool for about 5 minutes or b) bring your water to simmering near boil.
  2. About 1 teaspoon of leaves should be used per cup.
  3. Steep for 2-3 minutes. Can be reused two times on average.

Catechins and polyphenols - especially epigallocatechin galate (EGCG) - neutralising free radicals and reducing oxidative stress are also present in jasmine green tea.

Tannins in green tea may prevent non-heme iron absorption from plant sources. It is best not to drink it with iron-rich foods.

Medication Interactions
Some medications containing green tea may interact with it - blood thinners (like warfarin) or beta-blockers. See a healthcare professional if you are on regular medication.

Stomach Sensitivity
Some people feel nauseous or experience digestive issues when drinking green tea on an empty stomach because it is acidic, and contains tannins.
